ZOURAS FARM, boasting 75 years of experience in the poultry industry (eggs, chicks and laying hens), is today the market leader in the sector.

Started in 1945 as a cottage industry by brothers Dimitris and Triantafyllos Zouras, the company expanded its business by investing in its own breeding units, rearing houses and hatcheries. Recently, we completed the construction and operation of an egg processing plant in Alexandroupolis, the only one in the Balkans.

Our broad experience, know-how and modern equipment in our facilities, but above all our passion for work, assure the high quality of our products and services.

OUR STORY

The company’s story begins in 1945, when brothers Triantafyllos and Dimitris Zouras lease a piece of land at Holargos and buy a few laying hens, offering “select new-laid eggs” to the neighbourhood.

One year later, the two brothers start up a farm in Metamorfossi, Attica.

This is where they keep 200 chicks and sell the first eggs door-to-door at Neo Irakleio.

Soon, they buy a farm in Metamorfossi and set up their own poultry company with 1,000 hens. They open their own egg shop at 109 Solonos Street, dealing at the same time with wholesale trading.

In 1965 they transfer their activities to Kapandriti, Attica. With constant investments, the company develops and modernizes. Dimitrios Zouras’s sons, Kostas, Triantafyllos and Yannis, undertake the management of the company at the beginning of 1980.

Among our achievements has been the construction of parent stock farms, hatchery and rearing houses at Oinofita, Attica in 1990 and the decision to transfer the production and our Head Office to Alexandroupolis, at the beginning of 2000.

Today, ZOURAS FARM is the leader in domestic egg production. From rearing hens, to hatching and producing the egg, our processes and know-how ensure our customers the highest quality eggs – our facilities produce over 150 million eggs annually.
